Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM):

Traditional Chinese Medicine is a holistic medicine, meaning that it treats an individual as a whole. Its theory was developed from the laws of nature and as a result provides medicine that will work with your body, enhancing its own unique healing properties. Two individuals may have the same ailment, yet may be treated completely differently based on the root (reason) for the problem. Therefore, it is highly effective in treating a variety of illnesses.

TCM encompasses acupuncture, Chinese herbology, Tuina (therapeutic Chinese massage), moxibustion, gwa sha, cupping, and a few other modalities.

Acupuncture
The foundation of acupuncture is that Qi (pronounced Chee) flows through energetic pathways called meridians. Just as blood flows through veins, Qi flows through these energetic pathways called meridians. Together, they provide nutrients. Each meridian is connected to specific body parts, organs, or glands.

A healthy body is one that has a consistent flow of Qi. When injury or disease occurs, Qi is obstructed. Hair thin needles are inserted into specific acu-points on the body, accessing Qi or Life Energy. Thus, restoring the natural balance of Qi and allowing the body to heal itself.

Chinese Herbology
The basis of Chinese herbology is the same as the basis of acupuncture. Specific herbs are used alone or together to balance the body. Pathogens that have invaded the body can be eliminated, deficiencies in the body can be supplemented, and traumas can be rectified. Mountain Acupuncture Clinic primarily uses herbs in a pill form, although occasionally powders can be used. Herbs allow treatment to continue outside MAC .

I have been seeing Tyler for sometime now, for stomach issues that were effecting (or is it affecting) my life.

She has really helped balance my system, it's great. I now am only going in for maintenance.

While I was seeing Tyler for my stomach, she also helped my sleep issues. Which at that point seemed secondary, but I tell you.... sleeping thru the night is pure bliss.
